Staff at STC are committed to the dissemination of knowledge and the transfer of technology to the industry it represents and also to the wider public. In this aspect, STC views its role as not just research and development, but also as a provider of demonstration trials. This allows new technologies and approaches to be trialled in an economically risk-free but commercially realistic environment.
STC embrace and encourage a broad range of collaborative research and development with various research and industry partners. We are the ideal partner where there is a developmental, implementation or demonstration phase to the programme.
We regularly host meetings for growers and are actively involved in several technology groups (see Links). Purpose-built facilities at STC can accommodate conferences of up to 100 delegates, with smaller rooms available for break-out sessions.
Technology transfer activities include conferences, study groups, grower meetings and open days.
